The Madness that surrounds us

Each day, i read the news with trepidation ; i live in hope that the world will be a better place; i wonder why we as humans cant get on; i dont understand that man wants to kill and be killed for reason's that make little sense to me.

heaven and earth are said to be one and the same things by some theologians. Hell another place. it is curious that Christians define such places of better and worse; they of course going to the better and the rest of us to the worse.

Tax Cuts Extended

Last week the United States Congress and President Obama came to an agreement to extend the so-called "Bush Tax Cuts." This means that individuals who earn more than $200,000 and couples who earn more than $250,000 will continue to pay a lower federal tax rate. Translation: Wealthy people in America will have more disposable income in their pockets.

you have to wonder about a few things:
1. The US must the only country that gives tax cuts to the top 2% of its richest!!!
2. it doesnt make economic sense , we learnt something different in economics tax the rich and give to the poor.

Things that make the world go round and drive me crazy!

The toilet thinga ma bob in the toilet breaks... yeah you know the thing that regulates the water flow into the sistern.. that thing. i say to myself, ah this is going to be easy, every hardware store from here to timbucktwo must have a replacement part?
well that was my first mistake. My second mistake is thinking that the parts 20 yrs ago are the same as the parts today.

Healthcare Fiasco

The newspaper is full of it: Historic moment in American history, blah blah blah, Obama the hero for pushing through the new health care bill by 219-212 votes.
So what? if one could believe that this was more than a PR stunt or something the majority of Americans want, which by what i have heard, they don't, it might be a good thing.

Pondering?

This blog post doesn't have a spell check.... i had to spell pondering three times. We take Windows for granted , don't we? let this thought be one of my ponderings.

1. what would it be like to live in a world not driven by greed?
2. what if the insanity of materialism did not exist?
3. what does it mean to progress? People have always idolized progress. But what does it mean? more sustainability or more exploitation, being the cleverest or having the best there is to have? i just dont know anymore.

5 WAYS TO KILL A MAN

Poems illuminate our minds with their tight prose and stuffed meaning. Poems dont have to be difficult to read. Poems reflect the non conformist voice in society, voicing our concerns, frustrations, delights and loves.
I found the following poem delightful and wanted to share it on this blog. it is a poem written in the sixties but seems so fresh and in fact timeless.
to respect the copyright, this poem comes from a book of poems titled "Poems of the Sixties" by F.E.S. Finn, published by John Murray 1970

Stuck

if you are like me, and i hope that you are'nt, you feel stuck in this "global enconomy", it is a form of slavery, only us being paid allows us the illusion of freedom. i know this is not a new tune i am humming.

I HATE THE GLOBAL ECONOMY

it disposesses us of meaning and value and our focus becomes idolatory, on money only. Money has proven not to fix any ills.... it causes only more.
I feel like Neo in the Matrix, hooked into the system... what is going to be my red pill that allows me to escape? what is going to be you red pill.
