Philosophical ramblings

"There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy. "

These are the famous words of Hamlet in Shakespeare's play by the same name. Although we have come a long since he wrote those words I think that there is a lot of things that we still don't understand and perhaps this is actually a world of infinite possibilities.

The philosophers of old used to sit around thinking about anything that they fancied, be it mathematics, medicine or politics. Yes, a lot of what they thought to be true has been invalidated through scientific discover but hasn't science also stopped us from questioning as much as we used? Probably not, I don't think even in those ancient times people questioned a lot since it is had to question anything more than where your daily bread is coming from when you are poor. What I think has changed is that the thinkers are no longer revered as they once were, now we are are taught by our educational institutions to think according certain constructs that are governed by society. Sure we need to be educated and socialised if we are to function productively but do we have to restrict our thinking because as Einstein supposedly said "The thinking it took to get us into this mess is not the same thinking that is going to get us out of it." So there might have been a good reason why I drifted off in class so much, it was my way of avoid the indoctrination of the rigid way of thinking, that or I was bored most of the time.

Anyway as you can probably see by all the typos I tend not to proof read the stuff I write but maybe tomorrow I will come back and check on it.
